SA-Austin.com Mailing List
Join our mailing list to receive regular email updates from us about South Africans in Austin activities, as well as information about South African social events in Texas.
We currently have these mailing lists to choose from. They are:
- SA-Austin General Mailing List: People interested in receiving SA-Austin.com's newsletter and other general emails from South Africans in Austin.
- SA-Austin Events List: Social events for South Africans held in Austin, TX.
- Dallas Events List: Social events for South Africans that take place in the Dallas / Fort Worth area.
- Houston Events List: Social events for South Africans that take place in the Houston area.
- San Antonio Events List: Social events for South Africans that take place in the San Antonio area.
- Other Texas Events List: Social events for South Africans held elsewhere in Texas, i.e. not in any of the other Texas cities that we have specific mailing lists for. This is also the list for information on the Texas Potjie Festival.
- Blog Post Notifications: Join this list if you would like to receive email notifications whenever we post a new article on the SA-Austin.com Blog.
You are free to subscribe to as many of the lists as you want to. We recommend that you sign up for list 1 (SA-Austin General Mailing List). If you are interested in South African events in Texas, sign up for list 6 (Other Texas Events List), and then any of the remaining city-specific lists that you may be interested in.
Subscribed, but don't receive emails? Read this...
If you have subscribed to our email lists, but you're not receiving emails: It has come to our attention that spam filters sometimes regard our emails as spam. This can happen in two places, (1) at you email service provider, or (2) your own email program.
If your email service provider lets our emails through, but your own email program treats our emails as spam, you will likely find our email in your junk mail folder.
If your email service provider regards our emails as spam, our emails will likely be blocked and be "bounced" back to our mailing list system and you will never receive them. Our system keeps a count of emails sent to email addresses that are bounced, and once 5 of our emails have been bounced, that email address is deactivated and no further emails will be sent to it.
How to avoid this happening to you: If your email program treats our emails as spam, i.e. you find our email in your junk mail folder, simply add our email address to your address book. If you are not getting anything from us, your email provider may be blocking us. In such a case you have to go to your email account at your email service provider's website and add your email address to your address book there (or "whitelist"). Contact us for the proper email address to use. We will then also verify that your email entry in our mailing list is otherwise in good shape.
